Alright so last week I told you all that I !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for knowing what the "2" in MR2 stood for.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Pretty much I was right and I found the answer on Toyota UK's official blog, it stated that "Sales of the new Toyota MR2, a contraction of Midship Runabout 2-seater, began in Japan in June 1984"
So Toyota UK's answer won me the bet. But I had also emailed Toyota USA beforehand to try to get a quick answer (no Toyota, 6 fucking days is not a quick response). Toyota USA responding saying that "The meaning of MR2 is: Mid-engine, Rear-wheel drive, 2 seater".
IT'S NOT THE SAME, TOYOTA! GIVE ME A GODDAMN SOLID ANSWER ON WHAT IT MEANS!
Note 1: I was still correct and enjoyed my beer
Note 2: Toyota sent me !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that explains some of Toyota's model names, it's fuckin' neat.
